Visa Requirements:

  • Completed and signed DS-160 Visa Application Form: The DS-160 must be completed online. You will need the DS-160 application barcode number to book your appointment.
  • Passport: A passport valid for travel to the United States with a validity date at least six months beyond your intended period of stay in the United States (unless country-specific agreements provide exemptions).
  • One (1) 2″x2″ (5cmx5cm) photograph: Taken within the last six months, meeting specific requirements.
  • Visa Fee Payment: The visa fee must be paid before your visa interview. The payment methods and locations vary depending on the country.
  • Proof of Funds: Evidence that shows you have sufficient funds to cover your expenses while in the United States.
  • Evidence of Ties: Documents that demonstrate you have strong ties to Kenya, such as a job, family, or property, to ensure you will return after your trip.
  • Previous US Visas: If you have previously been to the United States, any documents related to your previous visits.
  • Supporting Documents: Additional documents may be required based on the type of visa you are applying for, such as:
  • Tourist/Business Visa (B1/B2): Letter of invitation, itinerary, and other evidence of the purpose of your trip.
  • Student Visa (F/M): Form I-20, SEVIS fee receipt, academic transcripts, and proof of financial support.
  • Work Visa (H/L/O/P): Approved Form I-797, employment letter, and other supporting documents.
  • Interview Appointment Confirmation: Printout of your interview appointment confirmation.

Additional Information:

All documents must be submitted in original plus one set of copies.

Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

The Embassy of the United States may request additional documentation.
